The situation we have in Nigeria is that many research on mushrooms science and technology are conducted and published by scientists in various institutions across the country since the past 25 years. However, there is still no evidence of how those research and technology developed have translated to flourishing industry in Nigeria. There is a disconnection between academia and everyday life and needs of Nigerians.
ACMRTI will search literature and pull relevant low-cost technologies together and produce practical guides for mushroom cultivation in Nigeria. We will also mount training courses for would be farmers and become a resource center for starting mushroom farmers. We will collaborate with different ministries, NGOs, Banks and donor institutions to generate resources to support mushroom farmers and value added processing of mushrooms to various products of commerce.
Developed training courses and workshops are forthcoming. Please check back from time to time for updates here and on our ‘News and Events’ page.
